Nairobi is one of the hotspots of the tech scene in Africa. Mobile money was invented here and other groundbreaking tech innovations such as solar home systems have found their way to the continent from here. But what about today, 15 years after the start of “Silicon Savannah”, after Covid, after the inflationary surge and interest rate turnaround and new debt crisis? How is Kenya doing economically? How is the tech ecosystem doing? Are there still opportunities for future-oriented African-European collaboration?
